Short Mat Bowls at the Kenn Centre

One of the popular weekly events held at the Kenn Centre is the Wednesday Short Mat Bowls session. The centre has two 45 foot mats and will soon be adding a third mat to accommodate the increasing demand from village folk. Play begins at 7pm each Wednesday and runs until 9pm. Tea Coffee and biscuits are provided for the players, who pay an all inclusive fee of £3.00. Great value for an evening’s entertainment! The club has spare woods for those who want to try the sport and many members have their own bowls.
Bowls has been played around the world for many centuries. Its popularity is undoubtedly due to the simple rules of a game played in the most ‘social’ way’. All are welcome, just turn up at 7pm on any Wednesday.
